Katherine Rutherford

Katherine was the Head of Innovation for FNB’s Branch Banking division until April 2008. As a member of the innovation unit for more than seven years her mandate included researching and developing innovative tools, technology, processes and business models as well as implementing prototypes.

FNB launched the innovators competition in 2005 and Katherine was instrumental in the development of the competition mechanics and system from the start. Her enthusiasm for innovation was infectious and in 2007 the Branch Banking entries and implementations more than doubled.

Apart form her innovation skills Katherine is an excellent project manager and most of her prototypes have been successfully rolled out in the organisation.
Earlier in 2008 Katherine presented guest lectures on Innovation at Wits Business School for both MBA students as well as the Executive Training audience. Due to her practical approach based on her experience, these sessions have been so successful that her lecturing schedule for 2009 has already been confirmed.

Apart from her work at Mindstir, Katherine is also consulting for IQ Business Group.

She has an M.B.A from The Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town and has attended numerous Innovation seminars and workshops locally and abroad.
