Freda is passionate about innovation and the value it delivers within an organisation. During the time she spent in FNB she practised her skills to manage innovation prototype implementation as well as gained a lot of experience on managing the innovation competition for employees. Freda started her career in Transnet where she spent nine years focusing on communication and the effectiveness of various communication channels as well as internal and external communication research. She used this experience well in PPC where she was the Marketing Services Manager and headed up Public Relations, Marketing Services, Intranet and Relationship Marketing Programs. Her passion for one-to-one communication and specifically the genre of relationship marketing was expressed in her positions within various advertising agencies as well as Cims – an international relationship marketing consultancy. It was through her work at Cims that she was approached to join FNB’s Innovation unit where she enjoyed her role to conceptualise, initiate and implement new ideas. She spent just more than four years with FNB where she implemented innovations in the prototype unit as well as managed the national FNB Innovators competition in Branch Banking – a competition for all employees where the best innovation can win R1 million each year. As well as working full time as a director of Mindstir, Freda is currently doing a combination of communication and innovation consulting work. Subcontracting to RIIS, she recently assisted the Centre of Innovation of the Gauteng Shared Services Centre (GSSC) to compile business cases for innovative ideas that were received from employees. She has also trained key Eskom and GSSC employees on the value of innovation and the way to create an innovation culture. Other clients include Nissan, FNB, RCI and ABSA. ...contact me |
